"Watching Nicola transform the UK's understanding of economic abuse, transform the law and transform practices in the financial services sector to change the lives of so many women has left me in awe."
Marisa Bate, journalist and author
I want all women, everywhere, to have equal access to and control over the economic resources they need for the freedom to live the life they want. I offer global consultancy support to organisations working on women's economic rights, safety and inclusion (public protection/vulnerability).
I combine intellect and integrity with strong interpersonal and influencing skills to make change happen. I can provide support in the design, development and delivery of ambitious projects which shape legislation, policy and systems.
I have a strong track record of undertaking research with vulnerable groups. I can provide support at all stages of the research process, from helping to identify and refine a research problem, through to writing research proposals, steering research projects and advising on the presentation and dissemination of research findings. I can also undertake literature reviews, conduct research and write research reports for organisations.
I have been at the forefront of transforming responses to economic abuse in the UK through the development of innovative partnerships across the not-for-profit and private sectors. By drawing on my expertise, insight and experience, I can provide advice to stakeholders working on this and related areas.
I actively continue to develop the evidence base on economic abuse and think about how it applies in different contexts such as public protection (child sexual exploitation, forced marriage, missing persons), women’s financial capability and inclusion as well as customer vulnerability. I can take part in exploratory discussions and roundtables, speak at conferences and on panels as well as provide commentary on developments in the field, including through opinion pieces.
As a Churchill Fellow, I value inter-country learning and sharing best practice. I can help convene groups of experts on economic abuse around the globe. I can also provide technical support to individuals and organisations.
Drawing on her unparalleled expertise, Nicola helped us to craft a sharp working definition of financial abuse and shape the group's learning agenda.

Leadership is such an important quality and Nicola has this in droves. People trust her because she trusts people, and she also celebrates people as well.
Jess Asato MP
Former Head of Policy and Public Affairs
Nicola's belief in the project [to criminalise post-separation abuse] was such that she never gave up. She just knew that we were going to be successful and that is what carried the whole project. There were plenty of setbacks, but Nicola was absolutely determined.
